Comfytown - Újra Blog tour, ugorj be!

Hello and welcome to Rebecca Page Comfy Town Blog Tour. I am very happy to be part of this again. I have always problems with time and I usually sew only and forget blogging about my stuff. This is THE season again. Time to sit in the warm room (next to the fire), spend time together and enjoy the company of yours'.

 I always decide to make Christmas PJs for everyone, but it is usually a nightmare without proper patterns for everyone (we are 5, which means a lot of measuring). Luckily this year I had the already tried (and loved) Pippa pants by Rebecca Page, which is an amazingly quick sew and soooo comfy. We simply love it!

 I found the Paris top in her pattern selecion to go with the Pippas. Together they made us cool PJs. (Except my Husband's... as it is a man's pattern).
My D1 (6.5yo) is extremely thin, so for her I used the 5-6 T Pippa and Paris, but I lengthened them a bit, so they came out just perfect. I used the same size for D2 (4.5yo), but I kept the original pattern, and it is just great for her. My little on is 2 so the 2-3 was perfect but a bit long for her which was easy peasy, just an extra cut at the end.
I used the flat waistband version for each as I did not want to put 'extra' fabric for a PJ, they love it this way :)

Mine is a size M Paris and Pippa I like is quite short so I cut some of the legs. (the original one is normal length :)) For the Paris top I could not decide between the scoop and the boat neck. Finally I chose the scoop but after cutting I found it a bit to 'low' for my taste so I decided to make a mix and cut out an extra 'boat neck' part of red and sewed it on.

All the sleeves are cut out of two colours to make the PJs a bit funnier. (I just cut the pattern pieces in two)
I used plain red and white fabric but we wanted something on them, and the kids decided to have snowflakes. I made stencils for the snowflakes (usually using freezer paper, but as I did not have it, I used the wrapping of copy paper which also can be ironed on fabric), I cut out the templates and I painted the snowflakes with textile paint. I tried to make all garments (the snowflakes on the garments) a biit different so it will be easier to find which one belongs to which kid :) (our flat is always a mess when pur their things on totally strange places...)

Megint itt a szezon, és Rebecca BLOG TOURjának köszönhetően újra írok is a dolgokról, nemcsak megvarrom őket, Szóval most igazi kényelmes, kuckózós téli cuccok készültek, egészen konkrétan egyen pizsamák a család minden tagjának.

Négyünk pizsamája készült Rebecca mintái alapján, a pizsamanadrágok a Pippa (ez e pillanatban akciós), a felsők pedig a Paris modelljei (utóbbi Rebecca INGYENES mintái között megtalálható). T és A az 5-6 éve méretet kapta, T pizsamáján hosszítottam egy kicsit, a másik az eredeti méret. A Kicsi pedig a 2-3 éves méret alapján kapott egy picit megkurtított pizsamát.
A gatyák derekánál ez egyszerü "lapos" változatot használtam, hogy alvás közben ne legyen a derekukon felesleges anyag. A Pippa egyébként nagyon hálás és irtó gyors minta, itthoni és ovis nadrágnak és Jóganadrágnak már készült már darab, de most pizsamaként is jól vizsgázott (és sittysutty megvan :)). A női nadrág M-es méret és az eredetin normális a hosszúsága, csak én levágtam, mert a pizsamákat "bokalengősen" szeretem.

A felsők a Paris felsői. Ennek van egy csónaknyakú és egy kerek kivágásos változata, én az utóbbi mellett döntöttem. A sajátomnál azonban a kivágás jóval mélyebbnek bizonyult a konfortzónámban szereplő lehetőségnél, így utólag belevarrtam a csónaknyak mintája alapján kiszabott piros anyagot. Az ujjakat pedig kettévágtam, hogy színesebb legyen.
A hópelyhek stencilezéses technikával készültek textilfestékkel a gyerekek tervei alapján.

Turning the Page - Sewing for the seasons (Őszi ruhatár készítése Rebecca Page mintáiból)

Having quite a long break from blogging but coming back for a very exciting reason. I am taking part in my very first blog tour 'Turning the Page - Sewing for the seasons'. Thanks for jumping by!
I live on the Northern hemisphere so it is end of summer here which means I am sewing autumn clothing at the moment. It is a very exciting time for us as my first daughter will start school in two weeks so she is really very excited about anything in connection with it. (That is why you will see school equipment in every picture - this was the easiest way to make her happy with taking photos with me.)
I used 3 Rebecca Page patterns for these outfits:
Riley Vest
Comfy Cowl
Brielle Blouse

I love Rebecca's patterns (that is the only reason I am blogging about them) as they are so easy to follow, even when there is a tricky step. I always found answers to all my questions in the patterns.

I am really a rebel I think especially in sewing :) So only this comfy cowl was not hacked, this is the original version. I really loved sewing this. It was such a quick sew even my very impatient little girl could wait for it without becoming (way too) excited. It is made of sweater knit and jersey. (I used jersey instead of ribbed knits, too.)

The second version is a hacked one as we love reversible clothing (for different reasons), so I made one side from sweater knit and the other is T's favourite dino jersey. I used ribbed knit this time (the dino jersey was colourful enough in itself with tons of patterns).
I sewed the two jumpers then with the cuffs and waistband I joined them together. They are also joined at the neck-hood line where the 'last turning out' hole was sewed by hand.

The riley vest had the same hack, it is reversible, too. My daughter could not choose which fabric will be the outer one and the lining so we simply did not decide. :) The hanger is on the bottom, but we can live with it. At least it looks very funny for my daughter. Luckily this was the last line to sew so I did not forget the hanger this time (which I usually do forget...)

In Hungary the school starts with an opening ceremony on which you have to wear white blouse and black skirt/trousers. (Only some schools have their uniforms, it is not common here.) T became super excited when she heard that her white blouse would be a home made one, so I quickly sewed up a Brielle, too. The hack is the sleeve here. The pattern offers a sleeveless and a long sleeved version but T is totally in love with 3/4 sleeves these days. First I sewed up Rebecca's version (the long sleeve one) with shorter sleeve, but T did not like the cuffs (although the looked so elegant)  (I did not have enough time to take a pic), so I came up with the very easy 'rubber band' version which she loves.

A hosszú kihagyás után nyomós okom volt visszatérni, részt veszek életem első Blogos körvarrásában. Egy héten át bloggerek a világ egészen különböző tájairól hoznak ötleteket Rebecca Page mintáinak felhsználásához. (Az északi félteke lakói őszi ruhatárat készítettek, a déliek tavaszit, kinek mi aktuális éppen.)
Én pedig végre egyszer időben felkészültem a következő évszakra, és nem kapok majd pánikrohamot a hőmérséklet hirtelen csökkenésekor.
Mivel legnagyobb leánykám, T most megy iskolába és elkoesztően izgatott emiatt, a fényképek teli lesznek iskolai holmikkal - ez volt ugyanis a legegyszerűbb módja annak, hogy rávegyen a bélelt cuccok fotózására 35 fokban. 
Rebecca Page szabésmináit nagyon kedvelem, ezért is blogolok most róluk. Kezdők számára is tökéletesen érthetően, mind szóban (angol nyelvűek), mind képekben (lépésről lépésre, rengeteggel) mutatnak be mindent és adnak ötleteket (például a blúznál többféle záródási módot).
T őszi ruhatárához (eddig) 3 Rebecca Page szabásmintát használtam fel:
Riley Vest (mellény)
Comfy Cowl (pulcsi)
Brielle blouse (blúz).

Nagyon szeretem variálni és átalakítani a mintákat, így az egyetlen, amit tényleg abszolút leírás szerint varrtam, a Comfy Cowl első változata, futterből és jersey anyagból, passzék helyett is jersey-t használva. 

Aztán persze meg kellett varrnom ugyanezt kétoldalas változatban is (ez nálunk nagyon bejön, szeretjük a változatosságot - én meg racionalizálni a mosást. :) Külön megvarrtam a két pulcsit, melyek a csukló- és derékpasszéknál vannak egymáshoz rögzítve, valamint a kapucni - nyakkör illeszkedésnél. Maradt egy legutolsó "kifordítólyuk", azt pedig kézzel varrtam be. 

Ugyanígy járt a Riley Vest is. T nem tudta eldönteni, hogy melyik anyag legyen a mellény bélése és melyik a külső anag, úgyhogy azt is kétoldalasra varrtam, és így gyorsan megoldódott a problémánk. Mondjuk az akasztóját a mellény aljára kellett varrnom, de hát ez legyen a legnagyobb bajunk. :) Mivel itt úgyis ez volt az utolsó varrás, pont bele lehetett biggyszteni az akasztót.

A legfrissebb őszi darabom pedig T ünneplő blúza. Szintén kicsit módosított kiadás, mert az eredeti szabásminta az ujjatlan és a hosszú ujjú variációkat ajanlja fel, de T mostanában a félhosszú ujjakért rajong. Eredetileg megvarrtam neki a mandzsettás változatot (a hosszú ujjat kicsit megrövidítve), de nagyon nem találta kényelmesnek, úgyhogy egy rém egyszerű gumiházas megoldással zártam a blúzvarrást.
